plunges into the evocative vertigo, and makes a mental journey into the visionary charm of creative transformation.

In an instinctive flicker, he finds in the enigmatic richness of the unpublished work of Franz Kafka artist, which adds to the strength

of writer, the complicity of elective affinity: it penetrates into the crowded sheets of Kafkian drawings, spontaneous pages born

scattered among the youth and improvised media of diaries, back of postcards and corners of newspapers, populated with

countless ineffable and elusive black figurines, that recall the curious surreal dimension of the famous mutation in The narrative

Metamorphosis.

The characters swirl on the white of the page as the ideas of style swirl in the head to the ideation of the collection.

In Kafka, the restless and dreamy fantasy draws little men from quick and slender pencil strokes, with the body made of curves and

the legs made of straight lines often too long compared to the bust, engaged in hasty gestures and improbable movements: are

inscrutable caricatures rarely able to stand up for not succumbing to the heaviness of everyday reality, playful and mind-blowing

miniatures that, as light hints of complex worlds, dance in messy acrobatic escapes in search of the ideal order kept in an inner

universe full of desires for liberation, then recalled in the iconic story of the young insect awakened due to a bizarre process of

transformation.

In Romeo Gigli, the mysterious wonder of the beginning of the designer’s thought first frees itself in all the impulsive nuances of

the disorder that generates scattered ideas, splashes of colours, remnants of fabrics, sketches of silhouettes: then finds the way of

the transformative order in the creative design, which recomposes the logic of the stylistic vision, gives understandable order to

the material, concrete and wearable life to the items in the collection.

In the FW_23-24 the story of metamorphosis happens as a transformation in beauty: an evolution through the manifestations of

figures, inside the forms, between the textures of the fabrics, that from the construction of the day melts in the wonder of the

evening.

The protagonists of the inspiration are transformed into motifs of decoration: the men who lived in the drawings, together with the

emblematic Kafkian insect, rest on the winter fabrics of wool, cashmere, mohair, interpreted in prints and stitching that abstract

and hint, they condense the narrative force and represent it in fantasy graphics that animate the dry jerseys, populate the linings

revealed in the interior of vests and wraparound jackets, stand out against the white space of the bust and shirt sleeves, appear on

the wide surface of the skirt collected on the bottom to recreate the unmistakable balloon volume.

The evolutionary charm of the mutation process is revealed in the elegant metamorphosis of proportions:

the conception of lines and dimensions is a work of assonance with the constructive atmosphere of Art Nouveau that marked the

Kafkian period, not literal re-enactment at all, but suggestion of formal closeness that guides the sartorial imagination to build the

current and never conventional geometries that are the hallmark of the maison.

So, the silhouettes dress in the daytime hours of linear and trapezoidal structures shaped by dry volumes that gradually become

generous on the figure, and then, as if it were the transformation of the insect wrapped in the beauty of the chrysalis that blooms
